Mega-kudos to Callie Fausey (and her editors) for pulling together a blockbuster investigative package that throws a harsh spotlight on the sickening fact that Santa Barbara is a hub for human trafficking.
Callie returns to Newsmakers TV this week to talk about the months of work that went into “It’s Our Kids,” last week’s Indy cover story, which not only exposed and explored the problem in depth and detail, but also highlighted the heroic efforts of local government and nonprofit leaders working to do something about it.
Josh Molina and Ryan P. Cruz also join the genial host to break down the strange and twisting tale of the city council whisper heard up and down the Central Coast — STFU indeed — and bring the latest from the campaign trail, as the races to determine the balance of power at City Hall head into the final six-week stretch.
Spoiler alert: don’t miss the upcoming TVSB productions of our District 5 and District 6 debates, as Josh chucks a challenge at D6 front-runner Gabe Escobedo to hold him to account for his record on the school board, while the genial host confronts D5 favorite Ian Baucke over double-dipping at the public trough.
All this and more, right here, right now, on Newsmakers TV.
