Amid weeks of wall-to-wall local political news, the shocking story of alleged racial discrimination in recruiting practices at a UCSB sorority has flown largely below the radar.
On a new episode of Newsmakers TV, Kaitlin Sweeney reprises her reporting on the ugly incident and its fallout on campus. The talented young News-Press reporter also discusses her prolific streak of profiles on leading candidates for mayor and city council in Santa Barbara, including Kristen Sneddon and Eric Friedman.
Josh Molina also joins the genial host to break down the latest from the campaign trail, including an update on the critical North County contest for Fifth District supervisor between Maribel Aguilera and Ricardo Valencia.
Plus: with a spate of school board candidates campaigning against her record, Santa Barbara Unified School District Superintendent Hilda Maldonado calls it quits.
All this and more, right here, right now, on Newsmakers TV.
