As Donald Trump and his MAGA government blatantly threaten disruption of the Nov. 3 midterms, Indivisible SB has announced plans for a local mass rally to join demonstrations across the nation in support of free and fair elections.
The “No Kings — Vote Early” Santa Barbara rally is planned for Saturday, Oct. 17, from noon to 3 p.m. in Alameda Park, followed by a march down Anacapa Street to City Hall, where a ballot drop box is located, and a celebration in De la Guerra Plaza.
“There are forces actively trying to steal the next election, and if they succeed there may not be another free and fair one for a generation,” the group said in a written statement. “We will gather and show by our numbers that we are not scared, we are not afraid, and we are not intimidated.”
“Participants should bring political signs expressing their advocacy for democracy and freedom of speech,” the group added. “We encourage everyone to vote early, but if you haven’t voted by October 17, bring your completed ballot to the park to vote it with us.”
