Snyder: Making Sense of Trump's War -- Follow the Money and Keep an Eye on Mid-Terms (psst - don't forget Epstein files...)
Timothy Snyder, famed political science and scholar of authoritarian regimes, sits down with military historian Phillips O'Brien for a rigorous conversation analyzing what's behind the attack on Iran
(Editor’s note: One big problem for the American people, amid widespread public confusion over Donald Trump’s decapitation strike on the government of Iran, is finding trustworthy, responsible and credible information about what is actually happening).
Nothing that comes out from Iran’s repressive and bloodthirsty rulers can be believed, and the Trump regime lies like it breathes; the clownish drunk who runs the Pentagon long ago evicted every reputable national security journalist from the building, while the sewer of social media and an increasing slice of the mainstream press both now are run by billionaires pushing MAGA propaganda.
Given that Congress allegedly has constitutional authority over war and peace, we reached out to Rep. Salud Carbajal for insight on this huge breaking news story. Beyond a brief talking point statement he issued, we were told, Carbajal is unavailable to discuss the matter in depth for several days, as he prepares to head back to Washington, presumably to be apprised in full of the Democratic Party line. Sigh.
So we’re linking to the best discussion of the Iran crisis we heard today, posted by the celebrated historian Timothy Snyder, the author of On Tyranny, who provides some well-informed, sharp insights in conversation with Phillips O’Brien, Professor of Strategic Studies at the University of St. Andrews. /jr).
