Jerry, that's an incredible honor to be entered in the record from the first and only woman speaker (most powerful woman in US political history?), who also ranks 5th in total time in the speaker chair. Thank you for sharing this story.

She was at the center of US politics for decades, so naturally, half the country loves her and half hates her, but as she steps down, people should just show class and say "thank you for your service to the country." She's not running for anything else...

Her longevity in the mix is what's really compelling to me. When I watched "The Crown," what I found compelling about Queen Elizabeth was that she had been in the seat since weekly meetings with Churchill. Pelosi has been in office since the end of Reagan to Trump 2. It would be great if you could get her on your podcast for a long-form discussion about those decades and stories, without the political rhetoric snippets. Everything else she's been on has focused on current politics.

Another question I'd ask her is about sports. She's openly a die-hard sports fan (like myself). But most people from blue-collar cities back east never give up their teams for where they transplant to (Philly, Cleveland, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Boston, etc.). Like, if I were the mayor of Dallas for 30 years, they would still have to lose to the Eagles twice a year, and never win a Super Bowl again...So her choice to switch allegiance to SF is interesting to me! Was it a political choice? Was it Joe Montana?

ha, ha, might have been all those Superbowls...more likely connected to Bob Irsay leaving Baltimore in the dead of night and moving the Colts to Indy...the Raven are actually the trnsplanted Browns, the team that broke my heart by leaving Cleveland, where I grew up, and the neo-Browns, well the less said about them the better...the Niners on the other hand have always been in one place...thanks for your ccomment.
