A political novice, James Zurlinden decided last year to run for Santa Barbara City Council, driven by frustration at feeling constantly “worked up” and “embarrassed” by the City Hall soap opera.
Jerry, I REALLY like your candidate interviews - and that you provide the LINKS to all of them (every interview (I hope?) so we can keep track who is saying what in what district. I’m interested in what this candidate is saying—seems no-nonsense, great idea for State Street, and a cap/program on rent control and so forth. Just thanking you for doing this work, I don’t know where we’d find it anywhere else.
Thanks Hillary. This is the ninth in the ongoing series, and the links to all the previous interviews appear at the bottom of the post, following the YouTube embed.
I did get that - as one of the valuable components of your interviews - that we can access links to all the other candidates, plus, you’ve organized the candidates by districts. That’s a really big favor for those of us who find this maze of districts confounding.

PS when this post opened with big picture of Zurlinden at lead, I thought it was Josh Molina—-only a flash moment. Anyone else notice?
